Segmentus Clock by Art Lebedev Studio

Segmentus_Art_Lebedev_20100308

Art Lebedev Studios are one of our favorite tech designers because they always come up with great looking products that highlight the technology rather than mask it. As seen below, Segmentus works by having six sets of two individual legs for each numeral and they rotate to their position according to the current time. We also like the fact that the border surrounding each numeral is slightly translucent so you can sort of see what’s going on behind the scenes. The clock is a pretty large size coming in at 16.9″ wide by 7.3″ high. Our only issue with this clock is that we wish it could be mounted to the wall because it would make a great wall clock. Segmentus isn’t available yet, but we can imagine it won’t be cheap (probably in the $300-$500 range). That probably still won’t stop us because this is awesome.

A320 Pocket Retro Emulator

A320_Pocket_Emulator_20100303

Forget the Nintendo DS or Sony PSP. The A320 Pocket Retro Emulator can run circles around those tired portables… Well sort of. The A320 packs all of your childhood systems into a tight and neat little package. You have the ability to play Super Mario Bros, Super Mario World, Sonic, Street Fighter II, Bonk’s Adventure, and Splatterhouse on the same system. To be absolutely clear the A320 can play NES, SNES, GBA, Sega Genesis, and Neo Geo (what no Virtual Boy?). The system also has 4GB of internal memory which will pretty much hold all of your games with no issue. If that’s not enough you can even pop in a micro SD card for memory expansion. How do you get games you ask? Do a quick google search on “roms” for your favorite system.

Leatherman Squirt E4 Pocket Tool

Leatherman_SquirtE4_20100302

Leatherman tools are typically those huge foldable pliers that people slide into a holster on their belts. The Leatherman Squirt E4 is sort of like that except miniaturized for your keychain. Don’t be fooled by its small stature, the E4 packs in some really useful tools. This model in particular is for electrical jobs so it includes wire strippers, needle nose pliers, and wire cutters instead of standard pliers. Also included are tweezers, two flat heads, a phillips, an awl, a blade, a bottle opener, and a double sided file. Not too bad for something that goes with your keys. It’s available in three different colors: Gray (pictured), Blue, and Red.

The Puzzleboard by OOOMS

Puzzleboard

The Puzzleboard by Oooms is actually a pretty simple concept that can be used in more ways than one: each board can be used on its own as a cutting board or serving plate, or put some boards together and you have a super-sized workspace. It’s ideal for cutting those long baguettes, but we think best part is that any wine glass can be fitted into the blank spot of a board. Use these boards at wine parties so your guest will be able enjoy both wine and food while still having one hand free. Yeah we know, awesome.
