Ork Brain Poster

brain

The Chicago designer Jenny Beorkrem has added some new material to the mix with the brain poster. If this poster looks familiar, it’s because you may have seen some of her other typographically screen printed city map posters before, such as Los Angeles and New York City. These posters are definitely a cool way to rep where you’re from.

Segmentus Clock by Art Lebedev Studio

Segmentus_Art_Lebedev_20100308

Art Lebedev Studios are one of our favorite tech designers because they always come up with great looking products that highlight the technology rather than mask it. As seen below, Segmentus works by having six sets of two individual legs for each numeral and they rotate to their position according to the current time. We also like the fact that the border surrounding each numeral is slightly translucent so you can sort of see what’s going on behind the scenes. The clock is a pretty large size coming in at 16.9″ wide by 7.3″ high. Our only issue with this clock is that we wish it could be mounted to the wall because it would make a great wall clock. Segmentus isn’t available yet, but we can imagine it won’t be cheap (probably in the $300-$500 range). That probably still won’t stop us because this is awesome.

If you’re getting to know someone or looking for a conversation starter then check out Would You Rather? Overstuffed. This paper back is filled (stuffed?) with over 1,500 ridiculous questions that will help you get to know someone really quick. The book has different categories such as: sex, what’s your cost?, not quite super powers, immoral dilemmas, and a lot more. Some of these questions include: Would you rather walk like a fashion model all the time or have your hands revert to jazz hands when not in use? Would you rather have a horizontal butt crack or vertically aligned breasts? The questions are seemingly endless.

The Puzzleboard by OOOMS

Puzzleboard

The Puzzleboard by Oooms is actually a pretty simple concept that can be used in more ways than one: each board can be used on its own as a cutting board or serving plate, or put some boards together and you have a super-sized workspace. It’s ideal for cutting those long baguettes, but we think the best part is that any wine glass can be fitted into the blank spot of a board. Use these boards at wine parties so your guest will be able enjoy both wine and food while still having one hand free. Yeah we know, awesome.

Modknobs – Modern Door knobs

Modknobs_20100226

When redecorating your place doorknobs are often overlooked. If you do a search through your local hardware store you’ll also find that there are a lot less options than you’d expect. Modknobs realized this problem and decided to address it by introducing their take on the door knob. They have three styles and a multitude of colors to choose from, so picking one to match your modern pad shouldn’t be too difficult.

The Piano Table by Georg Bohle

Georg-Bohle-Piano-Table

What may seem like a smooth, simple oak table, is actually an 88-key electric piano. Now how sweet is that? Just flip open the door panel and Voilà, there’s the piano. The Piano Table by Georg Bohle is one of the most inventive pieces of furniture we’ve seen in quite some time. We can definitely appreciate the uniqueness of this piano table. The table itself is ideal for any dining room as it’s long enough to fit a whole family. However, an awesome piece of furniture like this doesn’t come cheap, as some of you may have guessed, the table is made to order at $6,000 a piece.

Aspiral Clocks

Aspiral_Clock_20100219

London based Aspiral Clocks looks like they’re on to something. These clocks actually rotate and the ball just follows the track with the help of gravity. Every twelve hours the ball simply falls back into the hole and it’s reset back at the bottom. Very clever. Very cool. There are multiple designs that can be found on their site. The only problem is that they cost $540 bucks.
