Google has released a new direction platform on its Google Maps service, this time for street-minded cyclists. Google Maps for Bikes provides directions for bike travel, based on bike-only paths, roads with dedicated bike lanes and other bike-friendly streets. The system determines the fastest, most bike-friendly path from point A to point B in over 150 cities across the United States. Nike has just unveiled there latest creation, the Mercurial Vapor SuperFly II. These soccer cleats are a lightweight boot featuring a new, unique adaptive traction system designed for explosive acceleration. They feature Flywire tech, an adaptive stud, directional blades, and a carbon composite chassis. Plus they look pretty sweet. These will be available April 2010 at all Nike retailers and also www.nikestore.com and www.nikesoccer.com.
If you’ve got a game room and $160 then buy the Halex CricketView 5000. This isn’t your typical cheese ball electronic dart board with those little holes and pressure sensitive panels. Alright, we know that the price is just ridiculous, but if you had the money to blow and love Foosball, then here is the ultimate Foosball Table. The VIP Kicker is made out of stainless steel, aluminum, ESG glass and veneered wood. Basic components right? Well here’s the kicker: the Crystal Edition tops out with 151,000 Swarovski crystals. Now that’s just insane.
Complete fixed gears are sort of hard to come by unless you go through craigslist or spend a pretty good amount of time researching and building your own. Like Eighth Inch, Globe (part of Specialized) has complete fixies ready for purchase and you don’t have to spend a ridiculous amount of cash. The Roll, an upgraded Roll 1, comes with a Reynolds 520 Cr-Mo frame, Sugino RD2 crankset, track style pedals with toe clips, 700c super deep V wheels, BMX style seat, and a flip-flop hub ready to be switched between fixed gear or single speed. The problem with these bikes is that you can’t purchase them online, so you need to check in with your local bike shop for availability. The good thing though is that the retail is $820 but we’ve seen them for under $750.
United Bike Co is known for their well rounded and quality bikes. They produced the Supreme SU2($720) for 2010, and it’s no exception to United’s known street cred. The SU2 is built with a 21″ chromo frame, chromo fork, and chromo handle bars. Other specs include Odyssey tires, an ultra slim saddle, Tecktro brakes, and a three piece crank with a 25T sprocket. This damn sexy ride is sure to make any BMXer drool.
