It’s no surprise that many surfboards break and eventually end up in a landfill. The problem is most boards are made of polyurethane or polystyrene which are not biodegradable, thus damaging the ecosystem. Ocean Green’s ultimate goal is to produce surfboards that are made entirely from natural sustainable raw materials such as Nicaraguan Balsa wood and hemp/organic cloth. So not only are these boards environmentally friendly , the finished product is a beautiful wood board.

The APL Concept 1 Shoes weigh only 15 ounces and are made from space-age materials, including a patent pending Load N’ Launch technology which is designed to provide an “instant” improvement in vertical leap. Now we don’t actually know if the instant boost in your vertical is true or if it makes a significant difference , but the shoes do look sweet and if the boost is true, even better. So basically this device along with high performance materials such as microfiber mesh and special anti-microbial lining, make these kicks unique from the rest on the market.

So what kind of board does Christian Slater shred on when he’s not rocking the diamond sheet whale board al la Gleaming The Cube (our favorite 80s skate movie)? Well in reality he probably doesn’t skate, but if he did he would be riding a Binary Dictate ($80). These 8.0″ wide decks are built from extremely durable Canadian maple, and have a pretty slick circuit board design. The board glides on 52mm wheels and has the Binary logo etched out on the grip tape. For $80 bucks this is pretty much a steal.

Complete fixed gears are sort of hard to come by unless you go through craigslist or spend a pretty good amount of time researching and building your own. Like Eighth Inch, Globe (part of Specialized) has complete fixies ready for purchase and you don’t have to spend a ridiculous amount of cash. The Roll, an upgraded Roll 1, comes with a Reynolds 520 Cr-Mo frame, Sugino RD2 crankset, track style pedals with toe clips, 700c super deep V wheels, BMX style seat, and a flip-flop hub ready to be switched between fixed gear or single speed. The problem with these bikes is that you can’t purchase them online, so you need to check in with your local bike shop for availability. The good thing though is that the retail is $820 but we’ve seen them for under $750.
